Peak periods
Peak periods are defined as all QLD state school holidays, all NSW state school holidays, QLD state public holidays and long weekends. A peak period surcharge may apply to all bookings.
Cancelation policy
Once a booking has been confirmed all bookings will incur a 50% of deposit cancelation fee.
Under 7 days from booking date will incur a 100% of deposit cancelation fee.
"No" refunds will be given for covid related cancelations, Normal cancelation policy will apply to all bookings.
4x4 Hire
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- The owner may
terminate this agreement and repossess the vehicle without notice if the owner
suspects the hirer has breached this agreement in any way.
- A security deposit
is required for each vehicle payable in cash or bank transfer before hire
commences. $1500 for under 25yo drivers
and $1000 for over 25yo drivers.
- The owner is the
sole arbiter in assessing the vehicle for loss/damage for this agreement.
- In the event of
the hired vehicle being damaged the hirer will be liable for up to $15,000
unless a liability reducing option was taken. All liable amounts are in addition to bonds held.
- The hirer has seen
the QLD Safety DVD and understands all the procedures and instructions shown on
the DVD and understand the content of the DVD.
- The hirer
acknowledges they have been given sufficient instructions from the Company in
order to operate the vehicle in a safe manner.
RENTAL VEHICLE TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
- VEHICLE CONDITION AND RETURN
The vehicle is delivered to you in a good and tidy condition. You agree to return the vehicle in the same
condition except for ordinary wear and tear (NOT INCLUDING TYRE OR WINDSCREEN
DAMAGE) together with all tools, accessories and equipment.
- UNAUTHORISED AND PROHIBITED USE
Persons who must not drive the vehicle:
- A person who is
not identified on the rental agreement.
- A person who is
not licensed for the class of vehicle.
- A person whose
blood alcohol concentration exceeds the lawful limit.
- A person with
illicit or illegal drugs in their system.
- A person who has
given a false name, age, addresses or licence details.
- CIRCUMSTANCES IN WHICH THE VEHICLE
MUST NOT BE USED
- On unsealed roads
or beaches between sunset and sunrise.
- To carry dangerous
goods.
- To carry any
additional passengers not listed on the rental agreement.
- To tow or propel
any other vehicle.
- In a dangerous or
illegal manner.
- DAMAGE
All hirers are responsible for any damage to the hired vehicle or a
third-party vehicle or property in the event of an accident. In the event the total bond held does not
cover the damage the balance owing will need to be paid at the end of the hire.
- EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY
In no event will the Company be liable for any loss, damage, injury or
death to any property or person caused or contributed to by any conduct, act or
omission, neglect, breach or default by the Company or the Company’s servants
or agents.
- FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS
Note: All participants are jointly and severally responsible under this
agreement. You authorise, the Company to
debit from the cash bond or funds held by the company for the bond (or you will
pay on demand any balance) with the following charges:
- All charges with
respect to traffic violations incurred during this agreement.
- All loss and
damage to the vehicle (including loss of use), legal expenses, assessment fees,
towing and recovery, consequential third-party damage, storage and service
charges where:
- Any condition of
this agreement has been breached.
- You have not kept
the key secure and under your control.
- The underbody of
the vehicle is damaged regardless of the cause.
- The vehicle is
totally or partially submerged in water.
- The interior of
the vehicle is damaged.
- The tyres on the
vehicle are damaged.
- The windscreen or
any other glass on the vehicle is damaged.
- Any damage or
costs incurred due to misuse of the vehicles battery.
- Damage caused by
sitting or standing on the roof or bonnet of the vehicle.
- You have failed to
maintain all fluid levels or failed to immediately report to us any defect you
become aware of.
- The vehicle is
damaged by cargo not being secured properly.
- Cleaning of the
vehicle if returned excessively dirty as deemed by the company
- A fee of a minimum
of $500 must be paid if the vehicle is driven through saltwater or evidence of
salt water damage is present when the vehicle is returned. Do not wash the vehicles exterior before
return. Washing will be deemed as
covering up salt water damage and will be charged at the min rate.
GENERAL PROVISIONS
- You will release
and hold harmless the Company (and its agents and staff) from all claims or
damages to your personal property or that of any other persons property left in
the vehicle, or which is received, handled or stored by the Company at any time
before, during or after the rental period whether due to the Companies
negligence or not.
- The Company gives
no express or implied warranty except those implied by the Trade Practices Act
1974 or any other laws as to the condition of the vehicle, but nothing herein
restricts you from your rights and remedies under those laws. Where those laws permit the Company to limit
liability for breach of implied conditions or warranty the Company limits
liability to replacement, repair or resupply. In particular the Company is not liable for any indirect or
consequential loss or damages.
- No right under
this agreement may be waived except in writing from an officer of the Company.
- Words used in this
agreement to denote gender shall include all genders, singular words include
the plural.
- In the event of a
mechanical issue that is not the hirers fault, Island 4x4 Hire will endeavour
to repair or replace the vehicle as soon as possible. Any lost time will be added to the end of the
hire at no cost to the hirer. Refunds
will not be given for lost time.
- Island 4x4 Hire
Pty Ltd are not the provider of accredited training for driving of 4x4 vehicles
nor do we present ourselves in such a manner. If the customer is not satisfied by the training given by Island 4x4
Hire, the customer is at liberty to seek alternative advice or training at
their own expense.
- Any vehicles or
items left in the possession of Island 4x4 Hire Pty Ltd will be left at the
customers risk.
- The hirer agrees
to follow the speed limits of 20km/h on the inland tracks anywhere on the
island and 60km/h on the beaches and any roads either on the island or the
mainland. Any breach of these speed
limits will result in full loss of bond.
Camper
Trailer Hire
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- The owner may
terminate this agreement and repossess the trailer without notice if the owner
suspects the hirer has breached this agreement in any way.
- A security deposit
is required for each trailer payable in cash or bank transfer before hire
commences. $500 for hook and go, $200 for
Island 4x4 Hire set up and delivery.
- The owner is the
sole arbiter in assessing the trailer for loss or damage relating to this
agreement.
- In the event of
the hired trailer being damaged the hirer will be liable for up to $6,000
maximum. All liable amounts are in
addition to bonds held.
- The hirer
acknowledges they have been given sufficient instructions from the Company in
order to operate the trailer in a safe manner.
RENTAL TRAILER TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
- TRAILER CONDITION AND RETURN
The Camper Trailer is delivered to you in a good and tidy condition. You agree to return the vehicle in the same
condition except for ordinary wear and tear (NOT INCLUDING TYRE OR TENT DAMAGE)
together with all tools, tyres, accessories and equipment.
- UNAUTHORISED AND PROHIBITED USE
Persons who must not Tow/Use the Camper Trailer:
- A person who is
not identified on the rental agreement.
- A person who is
not licensed for the class of vehicle.
- A person whose
blood alcohol concentration exceeds the lawful limit.
- A person with
illicit or illegal drugs in their system.
- A person who has
given a false name, age, addresses or licence details.
- A person whose
drivers licence has been suspended or cancelled.
- CIRCUMSTANCES IN WHICH THE VEHICLE
MUST NOT BE USED
- To carry dangerous
goods.
- In a dangerous or
illegal manner.
- DAMAGE
The entire group is responsible for any damage to the hired Camper
Trailer or a third-party vehicle or property in the event of an accident. In the event the total bond held does not
cover the damage the group will need to pay the additional amount at the end of
the hire.
- EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY
In no event will the Company be liable for any loss, damage, injury or
death to any property or person caused or contributed to by any conduct, act or
omission, neglect, breach or default by the Company or the Company’s servants
or agents.

- The Camper Trailer
is damaged by cargo not being secured properly.
- Professional
cleaning of the vehicle if returned in a state deemed to be excessively dirty
by the Company.
- A fee of a minimum
of $200 must be paid if the Camper Trailer is towed through saltwater or
evidence of salt water damage is present when the Camper Trailer is
returned. Do not wash the Camper
Trailers exterior before return. Washing
will be deemed as covering up salt water damage and will be charged at the
minimum rate.

damage per incident and each incident leading to loss or damage is subject to
the damage liability charge per incident.
- In the event of a
mechanical issue that is not the hirers fault, Island 4x4 Hire will endeavour
to repair or replace the Camper Trailer as soon as possible. Any lost time will be added to the end of the
hire at no cost to the hirer. Refunds
will not be given for lost time.
- Island 4x4 Hire
Pty Ltd are not the provider of accredited training for towing trailers nor do
we present ourselves in such a manner. If the customer is not satisfied by the training given by Island 4x4
Hire, the customer is at liberty to seek alternative advice or training at
their own expense.
- Any vehicles or
items left in the possession of Island 4x4 Hire Pty Ltd will be left at the
customers risk.
- The hirer agrees
to follow the imposed speed limits set out by Island 4x4 Hire Pty Ltd. These are 20km/h on the inland tracks
anywhere on the island and 60km/h on the beaches and any roads either on the
island or the mainland. Any breach of
these speed limits will result in full loss of bond.
Boat
Hire
The hirer and/or the nominated
agrees:
- The vessel will
only be operated between the hours of sunrise and sunset.
- The vessel will
only be operated in the approved operation area.
- Vessels over 6hp
must be controlled at all times by the holder of a current and valid boat
licence.
- All QLD and other
state licencing rules apply where appropriate.
The Hirer will:
- Pay all charges
set out together with all other charges which may be levied or made pursuant to
the conditions hereof.
- Not allow anyone
to drive the vessel while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Not allow anyone
not listed on the hire agreement to operate the vessel.
- The hirer is
responsible for all participants and their actions.
- Report any
incident to the nearest police station and Island 4x4 Hire immediately.
- Not operate the
vessel outside the approved operational area.
Security and Damage Bond
- A bond of $50 cash is payable before the hire commences. This bond will be refunded on return providing the vessel is returned
undamaged and as per the details contained in this hire agreement.
Cleaning
- The vessel should
be returned free from rubbish and not be covered in fish blood or excessively
dirty. A cleaning fee may be charged for
excessively dirty vessels.
Fuel
- All fuel used
during the course of the hire must be paid for on return at a rate of
$2/litre. Island 4x4 Hire will refuel
the vessel on return with the correct fuel. Incorrect fuel added by the hirer will result in full loss of bond.
Bad Weather/Mechanical
Problems
- Hires
cut short due to bad weather or mechanical problems will be refunded at a pro
rata rate for the unused time.
Miscellaneous Equipment Hire
- All items need to be returned in the
same condition as hired, any damages or losses must be paid for when the item
is returned.
- All kits should be checked before
departing to ensure nothing is missing. If something is missing it needs to be brought to our attention before
departing our premises.
- All equipment is hired at the hirers
risk, Island 4x4 Hire Pty Ltd will not be liable for any injuries, accidents or
property damage caused by the use of any hired equipment.
